Hey Emilia - this is "Jewish Pistol" (aka Jeff). I just saw the link to this on the semiotics blackboard site and I really like these! I particularly like the "man-eating cake." I also really like this one because it's a familiar scene that I can relate to...but at the same time I wonder what the speaker is experiencing. For me, it's usually that I've put my phone on silent b/c I know I need to rest, and then just seeing it flash gets me excited or anxious - "Who called? Should I get it? Probably not...But I at least need to see who it is...Oh, well, I'm already up, I'll just answer it." And then I wonder the next day why I lost 1 or 2 hours of sleep, haha. This would actually be a great start for a short story (or a "short-short") - I want to know more!
